Touristic Places of Goias

 

Caldas Novas:

 

It is the biggest hot water spring in the world. With lots of swimming places with hot water it's one of Goias' major touristic places. People all over Brazil and the world visit the city looking for it's thermal waters. Along the year, many happenings take place in the city, from concerts with the brazillian musicians of greatest success to international conventions. With a very good hotel structure and many ways of having fun, Caldas Novas is a great place to visit.

Chapada dos Veadeiros (Veadeiros Plateau): Having the continents oldest geological heritage, the Arai plate, formed 1billion and 800 million years ago, the Chapada dos Veadeiros is the greatest brightness point seen from Earth's orbit, as NASA says. Area of special beauty, present peculiarities during the dry season, as well as in the rainny season, attracting people because of the misticism and ecoturism, because it's famous for the incredible energy

in the region, besides the diverse waterfalls, trails and unforgettable landscapes, the preservation of the environment and the untouched nature, thanks the efforts of IBAMA, enviornmentalist societies, locals and local public administration..

Parauna:

Who visits Parauna can have a close up on nature, literaly. The region's rocky formations are a sculpture of time, forming beatiful and enigmatic pieces of art. With the tropical weather, pleasant temperature, sunshine season the goes from july to october, and a warm population of about 30 thousand inhabitants, the city is an excellent place for tourism and studies..

Parque Nacional das Emas (Emas National Park):

The Parque Nacional das Emas is a very special kind of Cerrado. In the 132 thousand hectares of the reserve, the visitor will be able to see, besides the rich flora, many animals like campeiro deers, tamadua-bandeira, guara wolfs, emas, caninde macaws, tucans, anacondas and many other species, some of them in danger of extinction. It's a place that requires a diferent observation, attentive to details, and using the sensibility in order to perceive the richness of the adaptions of life like, for example, the Indaia palm trees with
the buried truncs or the trees with a very thick bark in order to resist fire what selects the natural life and makes everything grow up again.

Pirenopolis:

Center of the Brazil's Center-West's economy during the century XVIII because of it's mineral richness, Pirenopolis maintains the old style, traditions and folklore of those times. Know the historical town, oficially considered a National Historical Heritage, it's house, streets and churches of colonial architecture. There happens one of the most known tradicional happenings of Goias, the "Festa do Divino". The place's great nature helped the creation of the "Parque Estadual da Serra dos Pireneus", place where research
about the typical fauna and flora of the Cerrado take place, fullfiled with animals, flowers, plants, springs, rivers and waterfalls.

Araguaia River:

The Araguaia River spring is in the Caiapo mountain range, in the border of Goias and Mato Grosso, and flows over 2.627 Km in which the tourists and locals can enjoy the many and beatiful beaches that follow it along it's whole way, until it reaches the Tocantins River, besides the great landscapes. It has the world's biggest river island, the Bananal Island. The Araguaia River divides the states of Goias, Mato Grosso, Para and Tocantins. It counts on a very extensive and diferent fauna and flora. Besides the undescripteble beauties like the sunrise, the sunset, the birds singing, the sound of the river's water...
In the Araguaia River you can enjoy all this in the company of:: botos, alligators, turtles, jaburus(tuiuius), capivaras, tapirs, herons, seagulls, pacas, jaguars, and many other typical animals of the region..
